So as you’ve known, I’ve done plenty of post’s on budget-friendly home decor ideas, however, it’s been awhile since I wrote on IKEA. I always love how they can be budget friendly, but I also love how other blogger’s have taken a creative approach to how they use IKEA furniture.
That being said, I’ve curated a list of some of the best IKEA tips and hacks that’ll turn your simple furniture into functional and decorative house pieces. Dipped Stools
If you’ve bought some simple stools from IKEA, but you want a pop of color, then definitely try this idea out!
Begin by measuring the spot where you want the color to stop and tape it. Use a plastic bag to protect the top part of the stool and spray paint the legs of the stools with a color of your choice, then let them dry for few minutes. Peel off the tape and you’ll have some cute colored stools for your kitchen!
Raskog Cart Vanity Station
Your makeup and beauty essentials can easily clutter your bathroom. So try getting an IKEA Raskog cart and organize your things in no time. Its an open design which makes it easy to grab what you need. It also has wheels so you can quickly pull it out when needed to other rooms.
DIY Fur Stool
Fur stools can make your space look super chic and cute. So how can you make your own?
Well first you’ll need to apply a copper spray paint to the metal legs of a stool and then apply a second coat of bright gold spray paint. Next, make the fur seating by cutting the center of a fluffy cushioned pillow (that you can get at a dollar store) and slot the top of the stool into the back of the cushion. Use a knife to make holes for the screws and assemble the legs to the top. Secure and tighten all the screws and you’re done!
Wire Pendant Light
IKEA hacks are not only limited to furniture. You can also decorate your light fixtures as well. And for this DIY project, all you have to do is spray paint a pastel color onto a halo shaped wire and once dry, attach them to a plain hanging bulb.
DIY Suspended Mirror
With just mirror glue, small nails, an old leather belt, a circular wood tray, and mirror to match the shape, you can easily make this IKEA accessory. Just drill some small holes on the side of the tray to nail the cut belt and glue the mirror inside the tray. Hang on your wall and you’ll have a cute functional piece for your room.
DIY Stickwood Headboard
Stickwood is basically reclaimed wood that’s already finished and has an adhesive backing to it. You peel the tape off and stick it to your wall. It can make a cute headboard or backdrop for a room!
Marble & Copper Side Table
This DIY projects only require heavy duty glue, some copper pipes for the table’s legs, and a 12” by 24” marble tile. Just assemble all the pieces for the tables frame and make sure to check and see if the copper fits under the marble tile before gluing the copper pieces together.
DIY IKEA Rug Pillows
Add warmth and coziness to your living room by simply trying out this DIY project. All you have to do is get some IKEA inspired rugs, Then fold and stitch to close the end and insert the pillow. This is definitely a piece you want in your living room.
DIY Faux Gold Desk Drawers
And lastly, turn your plain desk drawers into chic and stylish storage by simply gluing some gold foil onto them. You can put the gold foil on each drawer or each drawer nob to get an elegant look.
